 Step 1: Close Microsoft Teams

  • Right-click the Teams icon in your taskbar or system tray.
  • Select Quit to make sure the app is fully closed. [1, 2]
Step 2: Disconnect the Account from Windows
  • Open the Start Menu and go to Settings.
  • Navigate to Accounts and select Access work or school.
  • If you see the old account listed, click on it and choose Disconnect. [1, 2]
Step 3: Clear Saved Windows Credentials
  • Open the Control Panel from your Start Menu.
  • Go to User Accounts > Credential Manager and click on Windows Credentials.
  • Look for any entries linked to your old organization, Microsoft Teams, or MicrosoftOffice, and click Remove. [1]
Step 4: Delete Local Authentication Caches
  • Press the Windows Key + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog box.
  • Type or paste the following path and hit Enter:
    %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneAuth
  • Delete all files and folders inside this folder.
  • Repeat the Run process for this path as well:
    %localappdata%\Microsoft\IdentityCache
  • Delete all files and folders inside it. [1, 2]

I personally have used other ways to do this. Manipulating some registry settings in combination with a safe boot before booting normally does the trick as well.
