WSUS - LỖI "RESET SERVER NODE"

Bạn mới setup xong WSUS và để cho server download update suốt đêm. Sáng hôm sau bạn mở giao diện WSUS lên để xem kết quả.. WTF ??? Bảng lỗi "Reset server node" xuất hiện và bạn có thử bao nhiêu lần bấm button này cũng không khắc phục được.

Lỗi này nguyên nhân do có quá nhiều bản update và máy tính trong hệ thống cần update (nghe có vẻ buồn cười vì nhiều nên mới dùng đến WSUS chứ !?). Vì do quá nhiều như vậy mà setting IIS mặc định dành RAM cho WSUS chỉ có 1,5GB mà thôi nên WSUS bị "hết RAM" để chạy.

Khắc phục: mở thêm dung lượng RAM cho WSUS trong ISS

1. Bạn vào IIS Manager - Application Pools, mục WsusPool đang ở trạng thái "stopped" do hết bộ nhớ

2. Click phải chuột lên WsusPool, chọn Advanced Settings..., điều chỉnh lại giá trị mặc định của Private Memory Limit (KB), bạn nên set lên khoảng tầm 8GB-15GB tùy theo RAM của server

3. Nhấn OK để save và cho Start lại WsusPool, sau đó bạn mở lại WSUS console để xem kết quả

I personally have used other ways to do this. Manipulating some registry settings in combination with a safe boot before booting normally does the trick as well.
